The Capitol Building

Located at the top of State Street hill in Albany, the New York State Capitol building has been the seat of government for New York State since the 1880s. Built under the direction of five architects over a span of 32 years, the building is a magnificent example of late 19th-century architecture. Free guided tours and self-guided audio tours of the building are available. Visitors will find plenty of shopping, dining and hotel accommodations in the immediate area.

Dutch Apple Cruises & Tours

Climb aboard the Dutch Apple II for a scenic tour of the Hudson River. Built in 1986, this boat is based on popular dayliners that used to ferry passengers among ports all along the Hudson River, from Albany to New York City. Cruises are accompanied by a Hudson River historian, who offers colorful narration about the history of the area and points out sights along the way. Roundtrip cruises last about one and a half hours, and a full cash bar and snacks are available.
